In 2025, to keep the #AUSPEX momentum, I thought about posting one daily loop then assembling a weekly snapshot to make a 52 track mix for the whole year.

I've written down a set of rules to define how a pattern should evolve, but I realize the result would be more interesting if I loosened the rules and just focused on releasing one track per week, while keeping this daily evolving mix idea.

So... this year I'm kind of doing my own #WeeklyBeats.

I'll post new tracks on Sundays :)

At the end of 2023, I signed up for WeeklyBeats, a challenge to upload one song per week for the entire year. I had never written a full track or released any music on any platform, so I didn't expect I'd make it through 2024.

Somehow, despite traveling, buying a house, moving, and many other events, I managed to upload a song every week. They're definitely not all great tracks, but I'm happy I was able to finish!

52 Weeks, 52 Beats! Here is my final track! Wow, what a journey this project turned out to be. It is hard to believe that this is actually the last week. Weekly Beats has been a fun experiment and helped me learn a ton, but I am looking forward to getting back to making music on a less rigid schedule in the new year.

Like another track I posted recently, this song starts in 7/4, breaks down in 5/4, and then drops into 7/4 to finish. I worried less about making it all fit together and just tried to compose parts that complimented each other starting with the 7/4 part and then using the same notes and phrases to create the 5/4 part.
