Pheasant update 🤦🏻‍♀️
Started the day wombling around our garden, eating and drinking lots which is good. Then our neighbour's cat decided to take it on - a cat which is smaller than the pheasant. Pheasant flew away from a tree. Currently squawking from a neighbouring garden. Was earlier spotted in the distance at the top of a very tall tree 😳😲
Madness! Just madness.

Yes, the oligarchs are enormously powerful. They have endless amounts of money. They control our economy. They own much of the media.
But, from the bottom of my heart, I am convinced that if we are well-organized, they can be defeated.

Robert has been exposing the "bastards" for quite a while now on his podcast "Behind the Bastards" as he says here... "The present is ugly, the future unwritten. The only way we’ll make it a better one is if we embrace boldness, creativity and, perhaps, a little overconfidence of our own."

Love this! We all need space to vent, grieve, etc. Then the work begins.

Most of the general advice applies whether or not you're an anarchist. Through line is to keep building relationships, supporting communities, seeding new ones, and connecting all who are involved in caring for each other, resisting what has been messed up & what's coming, continuing positive work, keeping an eye out for unexpected crises & opportunities... itsgoingdown.org/dont-doom-scr #WhatNow #MournThenOrganize #TakeAction

It's Going Down · Don’t Doom Scroll, Organize: How to Get Active in the Current TerrainNo one knows what is going to happen with the election on November 5th in the US, but what we do know is that both candidates are deeply unpopular with vast amounts of the population. Republican Donald Trump pushes far-Right conspiracy theories, calls for mass deportations, and for the military to shoot protesters. Democrat Kamala...

a lot of us today are struggling with what to do, how to move forward

a lot of us are creatives in some sense of the word - makers

it can be difficult sometimes to find the internal motivation to create in times like these

might i suggest mending?

mending, as a process, has a seen end, a place you need to take it to

fix that bug in your code. the rip in your jeans. that annoying noise your door makes.

find something that you can take that last stretch, that busies your hands, and puts something more in the world.

not because i think mending my pants right now will fix the world. but because i know it will keep me moving towards something. because it will feel like i've helped. and it might just be the spark i need to push forward to the bigger problems staring down at us.

No other country impacts Canada the way America does, especially when they vote in a new president. We asked #UniversityOfCalgary #PoliticalScience prof & "#WhatNow?!? An Alberta Politics Newsletter" creator Dr @JLisaYoung what #Election2024 means for us
