Apple: Our Apple Watch sleep tracking system is so sophisticated, you'll never want to go to bed without it.

Also Apple: Go to bed without it or we'll never update your WatchOS software again.

@Newmy Personally impacted by this, so obviously I'm laughing hysterically.

@Newmy @Gartenberg even worse, you have to remember to go into the watch app, type in the passcode, and *maybe* it’ll decide to update next time it’s on the charger. of course it’ll light up brightly as you try to sleep

But other than that it's a snap. See also transferring audible books

@exchgr @Gartenberg And don't you dare try updating from below 50% battery, either. You are a child who cannot be trusted to leave your watch on the charger during this time.

@Newmy my SE took about 20 mins to update. I was shocked.

@Newmy Also Apple. Hey, your watch can charge to 80% so you don't wreck the battery. Clever huh?

What's that? You want to enable that feature? No, sorry you can't do that, it might just turn on randomly at some point if you're lucky. And never turn on at all if you keep an old watch entirely for sleep tracking. Sorry not sorry.

@Newmy @KingShawn This isn’t the reason why I have 2 watches but it helps. I had a 4 and recently bought an 8. No point in selling the 4, plus I want to monitor my heart all of the time since the Apple Watch detected afib, so the 4 at night and the 8 during the day.
