Ever since cable expanded choice to over a few dozen channels, Ads are easier to sell randomly across multiple channels, demographics be damned.
Where Ala carte should have always been a choice is user denying a channels access to a tv screen. And that disappeared once cable took control of tuning boxes & DVRs. Streaming doesn’t change that.
@Chancerubbage @WarnerCrocker I'm sure it's a factor but carriage fees are the bigger one. It's free money for the programmers even if you never watch the channels.
