@fbobraga No idea. I ordered the box set, though. I'm pretty psyched for it to come in, because it comes with the D&D style game she created for the album!

@fbobraga I'm sorry, that really sucks that they aren't available in your country. However, as someone who's had their work pirated...I don't personally condone using the Pirate Bay.

@cyborg_writer torrent or YouTube download is the only way much things can be reached lately, outside US and EU...

@cyborg_writer to "pirate" is stealing from ships, not copying stuff (which normally benefits the author, by popularizing the content...)

@fbobraga That's one definition. Another is "a person who appropriates or reproduces the work of another for profit without permission, usually in contravention of patent or copyright." Or as a verb; "use or reproduce (another's work) for profit without permission, usually in contravention of patent or copyright." People don't just pirate popular content, but they pirate things from indie creators who struggle to make money. Stealing from the poor is never cool.

@cyborg_writer the media likes to mix these two things, but "theft" and "copyright infringement" are apples and oranges: this confusion is useful for big distributors (but, generally, isn't for authors)

@fbobraga It absolutely is theft. There are literally laws against it. If you've never had your work stolen before, I can't imagine you'd understand how it feels. If someone can't afford my books, I'd much rather they asked me directly for a free copy than steal it. I give them away in exchange for honest reviews.

@cyborg_writer no, it's not barely theft: in much cases, it's a way to get rid of DRM ( defectivebydesign.org ) today: much music I buy nowadays is only available via streaming services with lots of DRM, so after buy I need to "pirate" it to use it in "normal" mp3 players (like the one in my car radio...)

@cyborg_writer something like it occurs with movies (and outside US and Europe this is so common: smells like a kind of colonialism to me...)
