We're experiencing a large scale attack on Write.as that might be causing service issues. Apologies for the inconvenience, and will keep you updated as we get things back to normal.
We're disabling new user registrations for the moment to slow the attack, so if you can't create a new account, that's why. We'll restore that as soon as we get some other measures in place.
We've slowed the attack for now and re-enabled registrations as we continue monitoring. Service across the site should be back to normal.

Once again we've temporarily disabled sign-ups while the attackers are bypassing some measures we put in. We're preventing any service disruptions, but you won't be able to create a new account in the meantime.
We'll continue to monitor, and re-open registrations once this passes.
