Mark Deasy 🍉<p>The <a href="https://aus.social/tags/ACTLiberals" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACTLiberals</span></a> having another normal one:</p><p>"Peter Cain, the ACT’s shadow attorney general, has apologised “wholeheartedly” for a 2002 workbook he wrote which does not mention the frontier wars and paints a rosy picture of how Christian settlers helped First Nations peoples.</p><p>One exercise talks about the “unfortunate things that happened” with colonisation then asks students to discuss how Aboriginal people have been “blessed” by the British coming."</p><p>1. Is there a more pointless political party in Australia than the ACT Liberals?<br>2. With two of their MLAs in Ginny now disgraced, will the voters who shift go to an Indie, Greens or Labor?</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/auspol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>auspol</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/ACTGreens" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACTGreens</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/ACTLabor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACTLabor</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/ACTvotes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACTvotes</span></a></p><p><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/oct/03/peter-cain-history-of-australia-book-apology" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">theguardian.com/australia-news</span><span class="invisible">/2024/oct/03/peter-cain-history-of-australia-book-apology</span></a></p>
Mark Deasy 🍉<p>For those who are a bit jaded, and reckon all political parties are the same. Think again.</p><p>After mining, the most corrupting influence in politics is property. </p><p>So, for those following <a href="https://aus.social/tags/actvotes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>actvotes</span></a> in <a href="https://aus.social/tags/canberra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>canberra</span></a>, the Property Council have given the <a href="https://aus.social/tags/ACTGreens" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACTGreens</span></a> a massive backhanded complement; they are hosting a 'leaders debate' but only between <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Labor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Labor</span></a> and <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Liberal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Liberal</span></a> !</p><p>No Greens even though they are in government, and have three Ministers some of whom have portfolios that inform the property sector.</p><p>The Greens are clearly a threat to the spivs in the property council and that is a good thing. Lab and Libs are in their pockets.</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/auspol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>auspol</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://www.propertycouncil.com.au/media-releases/property-council-act-secures-leaders-debate-ahead-of-crucial-election" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">propertycouncil.com.au/media-r</span><span class="invisible">eleases/property-council-act-secures-leaders-debate-ahead-of-crucial-election</span></a></p>
Mark Deasy 🍉<p>"Housing affordability has deteriorated over the past year to reach its worst level since records began in 1995. First home buyers now rely on wealthy families or high-income jobs to enter the market, according to the latest housing affordability report from PropTrack."</p><p>And remember kids, if the Greens recommend demand reduction via the scrapping of tax incentives, or rent caps, or a return to normal levels of investment in Public Housing we call them 'extreme' and 'radical'.</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/auspol" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>auspol</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/ACTGreens" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACTGreens</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Canberra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Canberra</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Democracy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Democracy</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/sep/21/housing-affordability-proptrack-report-first-home-buyers-renters-mortgage-holders" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">theguardian.com/australia-news</span><span class="invisible">/2024/sep/21/housing-affordability-proptrack-report-first-home-buyers-renters-mortgage-holders</span></a></p>
Mark Deasy 🍉<p>Just noticed the ACT Greens do not have a hash tag. Just a test to see if I use it here that tag will appear in the 'search by hashtag' option ....</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/ACTGreens" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ACTGreens</span></a></p>
