To take my ride yesterday as an example, I was meeting my husband at Safeway so I biked through the nearby urban farm. A quasi-suicidal ground squirrel raced in front of me to cross the path in what they thought was a safe gap. This time of year the yellow flowered wild plants (mustard seed??) are left to the wildlife before they dry out and become a fire hazard and then cut back. There is water in the creek (yay!) where the ducks hang out - hoping for a handout. Later in the year they leave for wetter places. I’m not sure where that is though.
