#BikeStreak Day 69:
Today is another nice day. It was near freezing when I set out for coffee with the hockey guys. But on the return trip it was already 50F (10C). I was riding my #ebike as I had to run another errand. I went to the grocery store and picked up ready made pie crusts and ready made pie filling. Given tomorrow is pi day (3/14), I had to make a quick pie, it's easier to carry the ingredients than an already made pie.
Happy 3.14159265358979323846... day tomorrow.

#BikeStreak Day 67:
Today is cooler but still sunny and dry. But my ride is utilitarian, mostly, as I rode my #ebike to the Dentist, 8.6 miles away. I rode by Assisi Heights and saw a message from the Rochester Franciscans. On the way home I took a longer, safer route, so it ended up being a 20.5 mile day. I have a ticket for tonight's #mnwild game, so no afternoon ride. Tomorrow I am thinking of riding the Wapsi-Great Western Line Trail in Iowa.

Last night I made a few tweaks to the configuration of my #ebike's controller, lowering the speed cap to 26kph and reducing max peak power to around 250W. I also set the throttle to Walk mode, so it only assists up to 6kph, which is OK for getting upstairs.
The old top speed was as much as 32kph under the right (off road) conditions, but I barely managed to get 20km on full power.

This morning I travelled in to work in about the same time, and still have over 75% battery!

Back in 2021 I bought an e-bike for my urban mobility from #Tenways. It was an #indiegogo campaign that really got me for bike weight (15kg battery included) and mostly free of maintenance (it has no gears and uses a belt instead of a chain).

The bike is really clever and has a sleek design. It is not designed to take on steep uphills, and probably a shock absorber would increase the comfort, but if you are no stranger to muscular bicycles you can enjoy riding it without any assistance at all in flat roads.

It happened that the handle mounted computer broke (mechanically, it actually works like a charm). So I contacted the support and asked for replacement (the model is out of production nowadays).

Before allowing me to purchase it, they demanded to see a proof of legitimate ownership. Of course I had kept my invoice, as I do for expensive things I buy.

A bit annoying, in the very first place, but later I realized that this made me feel somehow protected, and I really appreciated the message that if you steal it, you'll not be able to purchase any replacement, being it the computer, the battery or the front light.

They also thanked me to be their very first customer, as I purchased their first bike on Indiegogo.

What #eBike motors have multi-chainring (front derailer) options besides the tsdz with 2x adapter? Retrofit to a standard bottom bracket in my case but I guess that's neat Yamaha did an e-bike specific one.

went on my first joyride this year on the #ebike and fucking loved it, ended up going over twenty miles! can’t wait for even warmer weather.. and maybe even sluttier fits? is that possible?

“Can a commuter e-bike handle a 200+ mile ride from Seattle to Portland? That was the question that started this experiment. Every July for the past 44 years, Cascade has hosted their annual Seattle to Portland (STP) ride. Over the course of two days, thousands of people ride their bikes along the 206 mile route.”

I was going to ride the fat bike, today, but didn't feel that good when I woke up. So, eBike it was. This time, I decided to see how much better battery life actually was, and so I headed up the Leymental, towards Burg.
That building on the right is that burg. #eBike #BikeTooter #AfternoonRide

Anyone an expert on #ebike laws in #westernaustralia? Do you have to be older than 16 to ride en ebike? The 16 year old limit certainly applies to scooters and anything throttle controlled, but pedal assisted ebikes are explicitly not e-rideables. All the sites I have found with info seem to be conflating the two.
So... is there an age requirement for riding a pedal assisted e-bike in Western Australia? #law #cycling
