Steven Rosenberg<p>I need a chunk of time to get this free Netgear R7000 router loaded up with FreshTomato</p><p><a href="https://www.freshtomato.org/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">freshtomato.org/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://ruby.social/tags/FreshTomato" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreshTomato</span></a></p>

Jeff Fortin T.<p>I recently discovered the absolute joy of being able to remotely wake computers from suspend—to facilitate maintenance on family computers, or to access my own desktop—by connecting to my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FreshTomato" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreshTomato</span></a> &amp; <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OpenWRT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenWRT</span></a> routers' web interfaces &amp; using their <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/WakeOnLAN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WakeOnLAN</span></a> feature. It Just Works™!</p><p>Tomato also provides a nice "Wake" button right from the devices list status overview. Convenient!<br>I'm suggesting this feature in OpenWRT as well, to reduce the amount of clicks needed: <a href="https://github.com/openwrt/luci/issues/7298" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/openwrt/luci/issues</span><span class="invisible">/7298</span></a></p>
Chris Geoghooligan<p>Apple AirPort Extreme 4th Gen? Nope.<br>Belkin AC1200DB? Nah.<br>Linksys EA8300? Uh-uh.</p><p>I even looked at <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Tomato" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tomato</span></a>, <a href="https://toot.community/tags/AdvancedTomato" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AdvancedTomato</span></a>, &amp; <a href="https://toot.community/tags/FreshTomato" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FreshTomato</span></a> as a 3rd party router firmware to host a VPN client. Negative!</p><p><a href="https://toot.community/tags/ExpressVPN" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ExpressVPN</span></a> confirmed the lack of comparability and told me I should buy their $190 <a href="https://toot.community/tags/AirCove" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AirCove</span></a> router, but I don’t want to add *another* router to my collection, particularly at that price and especially because I really just need it to host the VPN client over Ethernet to the G3100 w/o WiFi 😒</p>
