@BenjaminHCCarr This article uses a VERY narrow definition of #proptech. Most proptech projects I hear of are focused on developing properties smarter, greener and more efficient. A great deal of it is used to run the building technology in a better way improving air quality and comfort while saving enregy.
Making hell for renters seems to be a minor corner in the proptech market.

It seems that there is a new industry (#proptech) involving tech companies that use #surveillance on tenants for the benefit of landlords.

This is not just about these companies installing surveillance equipment in the property, but also notifying their customers (i.e. landlords) when there is behaviour (e.g. loud music) that could be used to evict or extort for the sake of raising rent.

If you’re tagging #proptech, #affordable #housing, #affordablehousing, #realestate, #development, #construction, #permittingreform, #housingcrisis, and feel like you can see the problems from miles and miles away, I hope you can also see yourself in this chart.

If so, I am super curious which grid you most identify with and why.

Say the Quiet Part Out Loud™ and tell everyone who you really are, #capitalist investor from #suburbia who loves #carculture, don’t be shy.

Uncertainty about the inner workings of #machinelearning models holds back the application of ML-enabled systems in real estate markets. How do ML models arrive at their estimates?
How can practitioners guarantee that ML systems do not run afoul of the law?

Wayne Wan and I show how ML systems can be externally tested with dedicated system tests (as commonly done in software development).

I'm seeking a place to: 1) vent my deep dislike of #Brexit & the rights it removed for me & 2) deliver a meaningful explanation why people voted #Trump thinking he was fit for office. 😕

To represent a reason to add me, you’ll find these things mostly: #culture, #politics (#BrexitFlüchtlinge), #travel, #tech (working in #proptech, #contech), #transhumanism, #sci-fi, #robots, #Spaced with a strong advocacy for #womenintech #womeninleadership & #feminism with all it's nuance & eternal struggle.
