Wirth<p>The <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/Kingvulture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Kingvulture</span></a> <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/Sarcoramphus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sarcoramphus</span></a> papa (<a href="https://biologists.social/tags/Cathartidae" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cathartidae</span></a>) is distributed from southern Mexico to large parts of <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/SouthAmerica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SouthAmerica</span></a>. The strikingly <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/colorful" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>colorful</span></a> species is the only representative of its <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/genus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>genus</span></a>. It hunts smaller vertebrates and prefers carrion. At <a href="https://biologists.social/tags/carrion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>carrion</span></a> sites they successfully drive away other vultures.
