viq<p>Hm, <a href="https://github.com/wsdjeg/SpaceVim" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/wsdjeg/SpaceVim</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> seems to be the main <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/repository" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>repository</span></a> for <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/SpaceVim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SpaceVim</span></a> <a href="https://spacevim.org/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">spacevim.org/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> and it's listed as <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/archived" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>archived</span></a> on 2025-02-20, with no note anywhere about it 🤔<br><a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/vim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vim</span></a> <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/neovim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>neovim</span></a></p>
Paul Buetow<p>Hi Fediverse,</p><p>if you are a <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/NeoVim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NeoVim</span></a>/ <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Vim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Vim</span></a> user and use it as your IDE, how do you manage your configuration? Are you doing everything from scratch by yourself, or are you using a distribution/script like <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AstroVim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AstroVim</span></a>, <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/NvChad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NvChad</span></a>, <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Spacevim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Spacevim</span></a>, any other?</p><p>As of now, I use NeoVim but with my old VimScript style config from Vim. As some thinks broke, thinking about switching to a different way of managing my NeoVim configuration and probably switching to Lua for this, but am lazy doing everything by hand!</p>
🎓 Doc Freemo :jpf: 🇳🇱<p>Anyone out there who uses <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/vim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vim</span></a> <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/emacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>emacs</span></a> or more specifically <a href="https://qoto.org/tags/spacevim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spacevim</span></a> .. What suggestions do you have for syncing with your android phone (or google calander)? I found quite a few ways but all feel rather hackish to me, wondering if anyone has an elegant solution out there.</p><p>Right now im considering using taskwarrior as a middle man and syncing between org and taskwarrior and then syncing up taskwarrior with either google calander or my android directly.</p><p><a href="https://qoto.org/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a></p>

Kristian<p>Winter desktop. Just because. Workdays laptop. <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/pop_os" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pop_os</span></a> 22.04, <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/GNOME" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GNOME</span></a> desktop. GNOME web browser and <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/bandcamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bandcamp</span></a> playback. And two terminals running <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/neofetch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>neofetch</span></a> and <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/vim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vim</span></a> (with <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/spacevim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spacevim</span></a> installed) editing python code. Ah, and of course <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/xsnow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>xsnow</span></a> in vintage settings... <br><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/noxp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>noxp</span></a></p>
William Rehwinkel<p>just had a scare while trying to install <a href="https://koyu.space/tags/spacevim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spacevim</span></a>, i :q'd one time while it was configuring, or did something else, and that bricked my entire <a href="https://koyu.space/tags/vim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vim</span></a> config from before. (gofmt script didn't work anymore, etc.). Fortunately i restored all the vim config files with time machine.</p>
realTimo<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://cybre.space/@tindall" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>tindall</span></a></span> To be honest, after using a wild-grown vimrc for 5 years, I switched to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/spacevim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spacevim</span></a>.</p><p>The reason is (obviously) not that I oppose customization, but rather that it feels liberating to be able to reproduce a working setup from the top of my head.</p><p>Also, I like to recommend vim to other people and when they asked me for my setup used to be like "don't even get me started. Download this, compile that..." with one more layer of abstraction I have a *name* for what they see.</p>
Garrit 🏡🛠️<p>I know this software is very bloated, but <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/spacevim" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spacevim</span></a> gives me an IDE-like feeling without needing to install any plugins. I'll try it out for a few days and see if the drop in performance bothers me...</p>
