x0Honest question: If the current regime is accurately described as fascist, hasn't the time for protesting passed? Non-violent protesting is all well and good when the government can still respond to collective pressure, and I do believe it has its place and don't pretend to ignore its historical effectiveness. But doesn't a fascist government, by definition, no longer respond to collective pressure? At that point, shouldn't we be force to move to assassination, sabotage, destruction and terrorism? I suppose strikes, which are non-violent in nature, could still work maybe, but does that work for governments? That's more a company thing, and let's be honest anything worth striking from these days will just go hire desperate people for less unless you literally destroy them or hold way more cards than most. The writers' strike, for example, the writers really did hold the cards. But jobs available to the typical working man, or government jobs? Not so much. They need people with some level of skill until they can automate them away. They have openly declared their intention. I think we should trust them to be telling the truth. When your leader is the enemy, shouldn't you make war upon them? It's not as if we could actually hope to be liberated by someone else, they burned those bridges. And while the ridiculously huge military might balk at being turned directly inward, there would probably be less resistance to a foreign invader. Also invading is freaking hard. Granted, I suppose I'm just a hypocrite, as I wouldn't be taking part in such a war. I don't have the will for it, and I lack the means. Us disabled people, unfortunately, are probably the first casualty. I suppose if it does come to that, though, there will be plenty of focus on helping out our fellows, and maybe I could participate in that. As long as the people who do finally raise their arms don't forget about us. All this to say, isn't it basically purge time? Can we legitimately expect to just weather this for four years and have them not destroyed elections in the meantime? Have anything left to come back from?
