Paula PeetersApproximately 39.3 million hectares (30.4% or almost one third) of Australia’s Eucalypt Woodlands have been destroyed since European settlement, mostly in the southern parts of Australia.Much of the 89.8 million hectares of Eucalypt Woodland that remain have been degraded by high grazing pressure, inappropriate fire regimes and weeds.
