hush404I found this 2011 Toshiba mini-notebook kicking around at work a few years ago. Its got a 10" screen, 1GHZ CPU, 1.5GB ram and ran terribly with included <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/windows7" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#windows7</a>. I flashed it with <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/q4os" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#q4os</a> (a <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#debian</a> based distro) at the time and got it behaving half way decently in no time. Found it again today, gave it an update and toyed with it a bit. A neat little system overall. A bit small for my general use. <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/mac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mac</a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/keyboard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#keyboard</a> for scale. It was an interesting concept, actually. Put a bunch of widgets and stuff in there and it's almost just like a different UI paradigm.

KauzIch habe also mein Uralt-Notebook (<a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Windows7" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Windows7</a> 🫣), das ich glücklicherweise noch nicht entsorgt hatte, aus dem Schrank gekramt in der Hoffnung, dass das noch fit genug ist, um einen <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LinuxMint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LinuxMint</a>-Stick zu erstellen. Unter erheblichem Zeitaufwand hat das dann auch geklappt 😮‍💨 Nach einigen weiteren Schwierigkeiten mit dem Rooten vom Stick (was aber an meiner Paddeligkeit liegt - bin wie gesagt absolut kein IT-Experte) konnte ich das System nun also zurücksetzen. Georgiana BrummellI'm trying to figure out which is the best computer for my needs. I'm caught between three options. I want something very portable that's smaller than my Del Latitude 3120, and even than my Acer Aspire One D270! I would use all of these with an external keyboard. The MeLes can run off a power bank and needs speakers, while the Toughbook has its own battery and speakers. The MeLes have more usb ports, where as the Toughpad would require a usb hub (owned). Some of these come with more ram or storage. I tried to choose similar specifications when possible.
