Son of <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Vance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Vance</a> curious about <a href="https://aus.social/tags/greenland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#greenland</a> as it comes up in conversations. Reads up and finds out about <a href="https://aus.social/tags/dogsled" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#dogsled</a> race. Tells mum he wouldn’t mind seeing this. Mum, even though a lawyer, sits at husband’s side, has shown an amazing propensity for tone deafness. The man she is married to is a fascist and racist and the people who support <a href="https://aus.social/tags/trump" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#trump</a> boo’ed her. So not the brightest cookie. Decided in her wealthy land of la la that she should take her son and pop over to <a href="https://aus.social/tags/greenland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#greenland</a> to see the race. She probably did, sorry her staff probably did, contact the organisers and because they don’t give a sh&t about America thought how lovely. Fast forward to today. Son has learnt that what his father and his father’s bros do impact him. Mum can’t buy everything he wants. Mum learnt nothing because she is thick. Dad is still a selfish fascist and racist.End of story

Shantell PowellI know an elder who remembers this. Her father was out on the land when the RCMP came to her settlement and killed all the dogs. Her father stayed away from the settlement with his dog team. He was the only one able to hunt and provide food for the community.
