Christian Meesters<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://fediscience.org/@emma_cogdev" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>emma_cogdev</span></a></span> </p><p>Well, we (read: my uni) entertains an <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/iRODS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>iRODS</span></a>-based archiving system with a few PB. Every HPC-user may use it and keep hot (raw) data on the parallel FS and a copy on iRODS.</p><p>If data on the parallel FS gets deleted prematurely, retrieval is a no-brainer. However, the point is, that spicing your data with all the necessary metadata is simpler from the start (with a proper RDM-plan ;-) ) on. Here, the data is not published — yet.</p>
