Jérémy Garniaux<p>I'm trying to get the best viz of the ER diagram of a <a href="https://mapstodon.space/tags/postgresql" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>postgresql</span></a> db and I'm quite surprised by the lack of convenient tools. Both <a href="https://mapstodon.space/tags/dbeaver" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dbeaver</span></a> and <a href="https://mapstodon.space/tags/pgadmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pgadmin</span></a> integrated tools do the job but lack real advanced alignment or distribution features.</p><p>The db contains more than 70 tables, with a central one connected to every other. I wish I could automatically get a "circled" graphical representation, with tables spread around the central one. Couldn't find a way to do that yet. </p><p>Suggestions welcome!</p>
Kevin Bowen :xfce:<p>It seems that <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/pgadmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pgadmin</span></a> is not quite ready for <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a> bookworm. </p><p>I tried building it from scratch; but, it's a whole bunch of <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/javascript" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>javascript</span></a> node intimidating crap. Total rat-hole waste of time...</p><p>I'll be giving DbGate &amp; dBeaver a test drive this week to see if they work as <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/SQL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SQL</span></a> GUIs.</p><p>pgadmin seems to release pretty regularly, so perhaps I'll get a 7.0 release in a week or so. *shrug*</p>
David Martínez Martí<p>I just did a stream about <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/postgresql" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>postgresql</span></a> and <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/pgadmin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pgadmin</span></a> and turns out that I forgot everything in just 6 years. Had to look up how to do an UPDATE command.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/NT0l_gvHCp8?feature=share" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/live/NT0l_gvHCp8?f</span><span class="invisible">eature=share</span></a></p>
