I loved the Monkees back then, I love their music now. Every time I hear a Monkees song I need to stop what I'm doing and listen.

@ChrisBauerWrites Here is where I brag about seeing the Monkees in concert at what was still called Forest Hills Stadium (now Arthur Ashe) with Jimi Hendrix as the opening act.

@JudithClaireMitchell
Oh my. Here is where I follow you and say "I'm not worthy."

@JudithClaireMitchell Not sure if this went through before: Oh my. Here is where I say I'm not worthy.

@ChrisBauerWrites It's not that you're not worthy. It's that you're not old. You have to be very old to have seen the Monkees on their first tour!

@JudithClaireMitchell Au contraire. 😎 I AM that old, or close to it. I never saw the Monkees in concert, but I was old enough to have seen them back then. One 1971 concert I saw in Philly's Spectrum (gone, replaced with Wells Fargo Center) had these three acts on the same bill: Black Sabbath the headliner, Alice Cooper, Humble Pie - 7/21/71. And yes, I did not remember the date, I had to look it up.
