I was a public reference librarian for a couple of years and can't believe what is now happening with the conservative furor over books, libraries, and librarians.

@MargaretSefton They seem like very fearful people. Afraid of knowledge, of change, of difference, of anything they don't understand.

@CaraBruar This article is great and you can listen to the audio version. I love the tactic a library is taking to have those challenging books fill out an extensive form which indeed challenges the challengers: ie, have they read the book, etc. It's about three pages. Brilliant. It's a way to depressurize the situation a bit and discourage the showboaters. Still, I can't imagine trying to work in the face of daily public harassment.
