Thought I've seen it all, but... Just received a rebuttal from someone whose low-quality translation I reviewed, and it turns out this "linguist" doesn't even know that there's a type of honorific in German that uses a plural pronoun to address an individual – even though this form is used in many popular movies & books (LOTR etc.).
No wonder so many "translators" are afraid that the machines will replace them. If you're this clueless, please, let a robot take the wheel! 
@slcrane Yeah this is what I've noted as well, machine translation won't replace human translation but it certainly will replace (and is replacing) the most rote, unimaginative, and uninformed aspects of it.
