Watch it knowing as little as possible about the plot and let it unfold and envelope you. If you appreciate the art of #cinema, this is a reward.

I was devastated starting with the bus scene, less than halfway in.

I rarely need to decompress after watching a film, but in this case it was a necessity, this is the most emotionally resonant film I've seen in years. I'd not realised a blockbuster director like Villeneuve had something as high quality as this in his back catalogue. Rating? Hors catégorie.

Dune, Part One - Almost nothing happens, but there are a lot of pixels.

Dune, Part Two - For the first two thirds of the movie, nothing happens. Then in the remainder, virtually all of the character and plot development takes place during jump cuts, the story is almost completely opaque, and the thing still manages to be three hours long.

Denis Villeneuve, you should be ashamed. You knew how to tell a story and project interesting, empathetic characters in Arrival. And now this garbage.
