Alright, so. Recently, about once a day, my #FrameworkLaptop 16 has been doing ... this.
This results in the loss of all USB.
Which includes the internal keyboard, any external keyboards, any bluetooth keyboards... basically, everything except the trackpad, which is HID-over-I2C, and the power button, which is wired to the cros EC. I wind up having to hard-power-cycle the machine.
I'm resisting the urge to throw this annoyingly bendy laptop out a window. Anybody got any ideas for how to debug this? @frameworkcomputer ?

now that I've had my Framework 13 for a couple days, I have to say that trackpad gestures in GNOME are every bit as nice to use as I imagined they'd be
I did of course make use of them back with my Pinebook Pro, but the PBP's trackpad doesn't hold up against the Framework 13's at all. the latter's is definitely the nicest trackpad I've used on a laptop
(the bar _is_ pretty low as far as what I've actually used myself, but, still)
I spent nearly my whole weekend setting up my new laptop and documenting the process. So here's my guide on how to setup a Framework 13 Core Ultra with Arch Linux, full disk encryption and UI scaling (aka retina support) on XFCE.

my brand new #FrameworkLaptop arrived and I already ran into a problem

Building it took like 15mins, really good first experience
#FrameworkLaptop #endeavouros
Well this is going to be a fun weekend! My new #FrameworkLaptop 13 arrived. Building it and putting #endeavouros on it is going to be exciting!
I *really* want to spend $1600 on a Framework laptop that (I cannot emphasize enough) DO NOT NEED. I have a laptop. It's 90% sufficient to my needs (I'd love better screen, camera, and speakers). I can afford $1600, so that's not the issue. I don't need it.
Sigh.
It looks like #FrameworkLaptop people have been busy and are announcing "at least one" new product in a few days.
After a few more days with the Framework Laptop 13 (3/2):
The battery life is middling. I've had better. I've also had worse. It's easy enough to charge from any USB-C port, left or right. It seems to be happy to draw 60 W from my charger (not measured).
I found a dock that works well: the Plugable Thunderbolt 3 TBT3-UDZ. I can drive the laptop's own display and two external 1080p displays no problem. There's a newer TBT4 model from Plugable but this one's easy to buy in Australia. https://plugable.com/products/tbt3-udz
The USB-C "expansion" (really extension) ports feel a bit wobbly with any cable I insert. It's not an electrical contact problem (yet) but nothing feels as snug as it does on my MacBook.
