Little bit more managed on these today. All the purple on, and the armour has a base coat down. Not a lot but given that we’re all down with the second Nursery Bug in a week it’s good work.

Decided that half painted #Mordheim Witch Hunter Warband of the Green Handkerchiefs would make a great Flagellant/Free Company unit for the Stir River Patrol.
Mad to come back to painting a thing I started years ago (4?).
And that means 500pts of tabletop ready #StirRiverPartol is all painted up! I’m really chuffed to have hit a milestone on this. Lots of touch ups and highlights I can do from here, but it’s just nice to get to this stage for a change!
And another night #PaintingMiniatures in! That’s the Spears up to an okay standard, and the last outstanding mini started - the Engineer base coated and a wash on - tabletop standard at least.
OMG. #Painting. And breath……
So I’ve a paint brush back in my hand - I’m being messy as hell - but couldn’t care less.
My first (awful) attempt at more detailed free handing of a banner and I don’t even care - I’m dead happy with it.
Another addition to the painted ranks of the #StirRiverPatrol. A regiment of crossbows.
That’s 27/43 minis painted and that’s 328/500pts - past the halfway mark. Really happy with how this is all coming along. Block of 15 Spears is a bit daunting but I think leaving it to last will be its own motivation.
On to getting greens down on the Crossbows. A nice simple way to clock in some needed hobbying.
Despite being grumpy about some of the imperfections thanks to glue etc (I put this fella together about 5 and a bit years ago… where the hell is the time going)… I’m pretty happy with some of my technique, and just general mini painting just now.
Wizard earning his fare down the Stir while on a gap year from the Tower of Hoeth.
Popped in a bit of time this evening.
Drybrushed all the remaining minis with corax white, and then started chucking some layers at the Wizard.
Bit more progress on the other blocks of the #StirRiverPatrol. Took the 27 other minis of the Border Patrol from having a basecoat of Scar White to having a Layer of Apothecary White. Which doesn’t sound like a lot but in my mind today it was colossal.
Another #TheOldWorld race and #Mordheim Mini to add for good measure
Very enjoyable shenanigans from #Mordheim last night.
Top moments include:
- Frotek and Gelix running around killing absolutely no one.
- falling from every jump test.
- Mostly only hitting with daggers, but then criting with them…
- WS2 Youngblood Johann Shaften running a WS5 Dwarf Slayer through.
- A thunderer armed with a Handgun and dagger holding off Mann die Steerir the captain, Hugel Ein Leggen a champion, and Gelix a Youngblood single handed for 3 turns.
Long and tough week (catching up after being under the weather last week) is going to be wiped clean from my brain tonight!
Getting a game of #Mordheim in with arch rival, genial gent, and down right dastardly Dwarf fiend - @seanayres5.
The brave Stir River Patrol, in the form of their Motley Crew will be disembarking looking for some contributions to add to their double pay wages earned for services as a free company.
That’s 168/500pts of the #StirRiverPatrol with painted now. The dinner party scouts, don their great coats and string their arrows that they have most certainly not fetched in the colours of Talabecland - for that would be most dishonourable if one was to poach game.
Crew snap for good measure!
More #painting of the #StirRiverPatrol.
‘Free Company’, the Crew of this Units Vessel to you and I, is ready (They’ve enlisted as a motley Free Company for double wages).
Lots of #Mordheim #miniatures in the unit and on top of that - I’m running fine Reik Merc Captain #Miniature as the Captain of the boat-ttalion.
Another shade of green in amongst the boys and I’ve got to say - even as a work in progress I love it.
Trying not to build loads of models until we’ve moved house (hopefully) this year is going really well. Stir River Patrol is going to need a bigger Boat.
