The Go-Go Museum in Washington, D.C., opened last month. @thrillist took a look around the 8,000-square-foot place, which pays homage to artists like Chuck Brown, the "Godfather of Go-Go," shows the connection between the genre and tracks like Nelly's "Hot In Herre," and explores go-go's influence on fashion. “Having a museum that focuses on go-go and D.C. culture is important for the youth, specifically,” says HuffPost deputy editor and Washington Association of Black Journalists president Philip Lewis. “[It] dispels the myth that the only thing worth discussing in D.C. is what’s happening on Capitol Hill."
