Turning to the #mastodonHiveMind. #HelpMeFind the name of an #mp3player I had back in the late 90s (maybe early 00s?).

I've looked through pages of image search results. Poured through eBay. Toured the #vintageTech & #portableSound articles & forums.

I mocked up what I remember. Device was this rounded, pear-ish shape. That soft matte black plastic. Screen on the top. Had buttons on the top edges. I think there was an SD slot at the bottom. Maybe buttons on front below screen?

Any insight?

Fediverse, send me your jeweler recommendations!

I've lost some weight recently (intentionally and healthy) and now my wedding band is frequently slipping off. It's tungsten, so resizing isn't an option, and the independent artisan who made it closed up shop a couple years ago.

I'd like to stick with tungsten if possible, though I'm also open to titanium or other low-maintenance metals, and would prefer to support independent artists. I'm located in #Seattle if there's anyone local, but also happy to shop online.

Continuing my deep clean out some boxes I found a lanyard with my highschool anime pins, think late 90's.

I'm having a hard time ID'ing these last three. Maybe they spark something with someone else?

The two swords are likely a pair, and the bronze coin looks like a military emblem.

Hey #helpMeFind that 80s or 90s love ballad pop song that starts off like a normal pop song, but then breaks out in this mad orchestral pops thing at the end and goes on for minutes on end. The ending was so long that the radio edits just faded it out before the orchestral part started.

I can remember the instrumental part but I’ve forgotten the rest of the song.

Please #HelpMeFind a 4-panel #comic that counteracts the “go woke, go broke” nonsense. As I remember it, the comic starts with a person telling a second person that “if they don’t like it, take their business somewhere else”, and the latter person says “ok”, and actually takes their business elsewhere. But now that all their friends are spending their money elsewhere, the brand changes their product to appeal to the second person and their friends because that’s where the money is, and the first person is incredulous.

Long shot: Hey can anyone #helpMeFind the frog toy in this collection? This #plushie seems to have been made by #Gund or #BabyGund, and was part of the “Knuffles” series (confusingly enough, “Knuffles” was also the name of a completely unrelated Gund teddy bear). It was about 4″ tall.

This particular set appeared to have been sold by Zulily ages ago (zulily.com/p/knuffles-plush-to), but has seemed to have disappeared from the face of the Internet.

Please boost so some plush toy collector can help me!

Help me Fediverse, you're... well, one of my hopes.

I'm trying to remember a song / musician I first heard in 1990 or thereabouts. Notable because they had fiddle in what was pretty much a rock/pop song. The artist had PROBABLY a folk/irish background, but this was definitely more pop-like.

Any ideas? It got a decent amount of airplay, but maybe only on stations that would venture off "We only play supergroups" stuff.

Hey #webDesign, wanna help me find a book?

When I was a kid, I first learned HTML (back in the <marquee> days, pre-CSS) from a little book that I swear was called something like Creating Cool Websites for Kids. I think I remember it was written by a woman, and had a cover with some cartoon dude on it. This would have been in the late 90s or early 2000s. It was printed in color.

I cannot, for the life of me, find this book, and I would love to know what it was, just for nostalgic purposes.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Boosts much appreciated. Thanks!

I found a #knitting blog several years ago that I've since lost and been sad about that. It was by someone (female-presenting, I believe) who was knitting around-the-wrist swatches and wearing them for several days, to test blocking and wear and pilling and comfort.

If anyone can point me in the direction of it, I would be very grateful! I think of it often, and wish I'd bothered to bookmark it!
