I have to recommend another series to you - High Desert. It's on Apple TV+ [I'm on there for Severance until end of this month] and Patricia #Arquette is just nailing it! She plays a middle aged ex junkie/ex dealer [?] living in Yucca Valley, California whose mother just died and she is oh. So. Broke. And mental. She decides to become a PI, is agonizing everyone - and I really don't understand why this beauty of a series got cancelled after its 1. season!

Elko. A seedy high desert town with great murals and a whole lot of cowboys, poetry and cowboy poetry. As usual I'm overthinking things. Is American cowboy culture rooted in white supremacy and Christian nationalism? Are all these folks ranchers or just dressing the part? Do cowboys want to live in concert with the land or do they just want to conquer it? Are cowboys spiritual in a non Jesus way? Can they feel the power of the moon? I'm sure I will learn the answers to some of these questions and more. -40th annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

It's raining. House guests are gone, and it's quiet. I have nothing on my calendar, other than a quick trip to pick up small paintings that didn't sell 😑 . Trying to decide what I am painting in the afternoon... and this may be it. Trying to build up some snowy paintings, as I was *almost* selected to be the Christmas card for the local well-known art appraiser, but missed it because I didn't have any snowy scenes. Maybe next year!
