Made it through the Dark Green forest today with these three #ModelAircraft getting a variation of paint tones to suit their weathering style and homeland (The Hudson green was deemed to be a bit more Dupont in its tone) Glad to get them through this stage although I may have some edits to do later… and I forgot to paint the Hurricane tail band first off 🤔

Joining up on the wing of my 1/48 Airfix Anson is this Italeri Hurricane #ModelAircraft with its Dark Earth masked off now. Noted Italeri had the colour call outs reversed on their instructions! Thankfully I questioned it and checked other references so I got the Earth taped off here correctly… I hope 🤞🏻

I swear I am not trying to make things more difficult It’s just that some reference photos showed the ammo bays open but not the gun bays (but the Airfix kit was designed for all open or all closed) So, with a bit more surgery I got it done (and added the bowling balls the F-86 pilot is smuggling.) #ModelAircraft

In order to distract me from the CA Hudson pitfalls, I cracked open my newly acquired F-86 Sabre. I am just doing some minor changes to it so the end result will be a Mk.6 of RCAF 441 Squadron in Europe version. (Wing needed to be shortened, some additional vents added, some panels filled etc.) #ModelAircraft

Continued thread

Patiently applying the multiple coats of yellow that are always required. Got it looking a bit weathered now with multiple shades (although it is a bit hard to see - The addition of post paint weathering will remedy that). Hope Sunday has been good to you 👋🏻 #ModelAircraft

This Weekend in The Hangar - Folding wings, dropped flaps, positionable canopy, with a rear gun turret and a torpedo! What more could you ask for in 1974? If you have one of these Monogram kits in the stash, you can still put some effort in and get a good display aircraft from it. I recently picked up the 1/48th G.W.H. TBD-1 Devastator that benefits from the industry improvements over the past 4 decades. Check this Monogram #ModelAircraft out in more detail: flypastrush.com/post/torpedo-r

The Hurricane was also into the paint shop today to initially get a cheap shot of interior green on the glass (it works relatively well for effect) before laying down an underside coat of British “Sky”. Another coat will follow post assessment. #ModelAircraft Weathering to be incorporated.

At least I got the Lockheed Hudson into the paint shop today to initially get a cheap shot of interior green on the glass (it works relatively well for effect) before laying down an underside coat of British “Sky”. Another coat will follow post assessment. #ModelAircraft

I thought I was heading to the paint shop with this Hudson, but then I remembered I hadn’t fitted the underside engine scoops… Now I have to figure out how to patch this glorious fit up 🫣 …and when she was bad she was horrid! #ModelAircraft
