This is the new Covid welcoming Trump , the problem now is that we might have RFK Jr. in charge of HHS, Trump failed with Covid and he will fail here ;

“A little-known virus is getting a lot of attention this year. It's called Oropouche, and it's been making headlines because of a notable increase in diagnoses.

So far in 2024 there have been over 10,000 cases, mainly in South America and the Caribbean. The vast majority are in Brazil. By contrast, the total Oropouche count in Brazil recorded between 2015 and 2022 was 261. Of the 21 recorded cases in the United States, all involved an individual who had traveled to Cuba and contracted the virus there.”

I have to think that if biting midges in Cuba are infected with #Oropouche and passing it along to people, there's also some here in florida, or will be soon.

Every time I've spent on sanibel island recently, I get destroyed by the biting midges. They increased in population after hurricane Ian because the saltwater surge from the hurricane turned the fresh water into brackish and gave the noseeums more places to breed.

#Oropouche fever, a potentially fatal #zoonotic disease, is transmitted by tiny flies called #midges and #mosquitoes.. There is currently no vaccine for the virus, which is part of the same family of diseases as #Zika and #dengue fever.”

Febre #oropouche
