My modified #ReynaKAL shawl is almost done. I just need to work in the ends and block it.

An added benefit to having to unravel and bind off earlier is that I saw that it was curling badly. (I’m not used to lace doing that.) I noted that my garter stitch rows are tighter than my lace, so I went up a needle size for the final three garter rows and bind off. It’s not a cure, but it helped.

A V-shaped shawl with alternating stripes of garter stitch (a kind of plain knitting) and lace mesh. Each mesh stripe is twice as wide as the previous. The yarn is variegated magenta and gray-brown, and it makes blotches of the two colors; they’re equally dark, so the variegation doesn’t show clearly.

I had enough meetings this morning that I finally finished my #ReynaKAL! And I've really enjoyed watching everyone else's progress on it, thanks for sharing! I'm not thrilled about the yarn I used, but the shawl was immediately snatched up and worn by my 11yo, so it's a success.

I'm going to a conference next week, so I need a new #knitting project that will keep me focused: not too complicated to keep me from listening to talks, but complicated enough to be interesting. Suggestions?

The #knitting project I really want to work on has a problem that I've not been able to fix yet. Rather than work it out this week, when I really needed calming knitting, I started another Reyna. This one's a stashbuster because it uses up some yarn I set aside for another purpose many years ago, before I understood that what I planned to do with the yarn was a Bad Idea.

So really, I'm redeeming the yarn by starting this belated #ReynaKAL.

A little status update:
My #reynakal #knitting project #shawl is almost ready. I actually ran out of yarn and had to back up and try to finish earlier. So it's at the frustrating phase where I need to undo two rows before I can finish it.

Travel #junkJournal is in progress. Trying to decide how many pages I will need per day and how exactly to bind it, using maybe a temp binding that lets me take pages in and out or move them around.

I finished most pages in an unrelated project from winter.

A junk journal and a knitting project. The knitting project is with mohair so it's a bit fluffy. It's colorful in rainbow colors and has lace elements. The junk journal has old book pages, washi tape, and a photo of a snack sign which says welcome friends, next to a bucket with a shell, a feather, and a small bird sculpture.

OK! It's ON! 🧶💞🧶

Back to #PsychedelicaKAL, now that #ReynaKAL is done (except blocking).

Almost bailed on this or changed yarns. But then spent serious time with washed-blocked swatch. So valuable! Conclusions:

🧶 Yes fabric *barely* holds together, but it does hold

🧶 White linen is lace weight, I'm ok with lace effect it gives

🧶 In addition to blocking I will iron this to set stitches

🧶 I still love design and look of it!
