Shipwreck of Hephaestus

We were traveling through Malta in 2018 when I came across this. According to the locals it had crashed up on shore about a month prior. They didn’t know what to do so they tied it off until they could come up with a solution. My personal favorite of the photos I took. The two guys below were exploring the ship. Thought it would ruin the shot but it ended up adding some good scale.

The Point Reyes at Low Tide II

The Point Reyes is a weathered and abandoned boat that sits partially submerged in the calm waters of Tomales Bay. It had been a few years since I was last out to visit here. I was really surprised to see how much more she had decayed. The bow is completely severed now and the hull has finally given way to the weight of the cabin.

The Point Reyes At Low Tide II The Point Reyes is an old fishing boat that broke loose from it's dock during a storm many years ago. It washed up onto this sandbar at the south end of Tomales Bay by the town of Inverness. The foreground of the image is the sandbar that the boat came to a rest on many years ago. The boats bow is now crushed. You can see the hull is missing a number of planks. The cabin is leaning as it sits on the now crushed hull. Most of the paint is now gone or heavily faded. Beyond the boat is the still waters of Tomales Bay and the rolling hills of Marin County.
