Today's the Day! Don't miss out.

STEM Educators, we hope you can join us tonight, March 25, 8-9 pm ET / 5-6 pm PT for this free live webinar on the power of short films in STEM education.

The workshop will highlight opportunities for civic engagement for students as well as education regarding the environmental issues and challenges facing the world today. We'll also explore tools and resources for 'The Crisis Scientists' — a 6-minute documentary short celebrating heroes fighting to save the planet. This is a hands-on experience featuring tangible materials that can immediately be used in the classroom. For high school and early higher ed.

[Boosts welcome & appreciated!]

Did you know that there are over 1000 species of frogs in the Amazon- and those are the ones we know about! 🐸

For World Frog Day, we want to highlight award-winning documentary River of Gold, about the Amazon River Basin. Lesson 4 in our free curriculum guide explores the Biodiversity of the Amazon. It's a great way to inspire students about conservation efforts to protect frogs, and the other flora and fauna of the Amazon. This lesson is designed for grades 9-10 and is a great choice for Biology, Environmental Studies, and Geography classes!

If we had to choose just one climate change related film to recommend, it's a tough choice, because we have some great resources in our library, but we'd have to pick Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops.

This series of five short films (which are available for free) explore climate tipping points + what can be done right now to make a difference. It's a great primer on the mechanics of climate change & the urgency of solutions. Our free lessons for this series are designed for grades 7-12. 4/n

I just gave a talk about astronomy & outreach to a week-long summer school for high school students, and the coordinator has the *best* way to handle Q&A:
After your talk, you leave the room for 20-25 minutes. The students split into small groups and brainstorm all their questions, then they rank their questions and write them on big poster stickies. Then, you come back in the room, and each group takes turns asking you their questions. #summerSchool #iTeachPhysics #sciEd #STEMEd #astrodon
