IMHO, this is one of the many missed opportunities for #VeryShortTreks (though the different styles did work for some of the jokes in the final short). Just because #LowerDecks is also animated didn't mean they had to use that animation style for #VST. Part of the fun was seeing the live-action #StarTrek #TNG / #DS9 / #VOY characters in #TAS style; doing this for #LDS (and the #PRO characters in the penultimate short) would have been fun to see as well.

We got not only one but two animated versions of Malcolm Reed last week. One was seen in #StarTrekLowerDecks' "Empathological Fallacies" and another one, in #StarTrekTAS style, appeared in the #veryShortTreks episode "Holograms All the Way Down". Terrific, @idomknow ! :-)

I really liked the latest episode of #StarTrek's #VeryShortTreks! After some awful, cringey episodes, last week's episode was a big improvement and this week's is easily my favourite so far. I hope the rest stays at this level.

So, overall, that's a 2/5 success rate. And given how much I disliked the first three, I'm comfortable giving the entire #VST series of shorts two out of five stars.

At least they ended on a high note! Or, well, several. ;)

Although like last weeks, I do feel like it's more of a set up in need of a final punchline. But it's still fun.

Here are some comparison shots of the Enterprise NX-01 in #veryShortTreks' "Holograms All the Way Down" and #StarTrekENT's "Terra Nova" and "Doctor's Orders".

In the #veryShortTreks episode "Holograms All the Way Down", Neelix goes to bed wearing one of his regular uniforms, the blue one he last wore on the USS Voyager before he left ("Homestead"). I've also included his recurring pyjamas ("Night") .

It was great seeing Gwyn, Zero and Rok-Tahk in the familiar dome-shaped holodeck of the USS Protostar (#StarTrekProdigy's "Ghost in the Machine") in #veryShortTreks' "Holograms All the Way Down"). Now, can we please please #SaveStarTrekProdigy???
