The song reached No. 1 on the #Billboard #Hot100 in July 1967, becoming the group's second U.S. No. 1 hit following "#Cherish" in 1966. Billboard ranked the record as the #No4SongFor1967. The lead vocals were sung primarily by #guitarist and new band member #LarryRamos along with vocalist Russ Giguere (both would sing lead together in the band's last Top 40 hit "#TimeForLivin"). "Never My Love" is a #pop standard written by American siblings Don and Dick Addrisi, and best known from a hit 1967 recording by #theAssociation. The #AddrisiBrothers had two #Top40 hits as recording artists, but their biggest success as #songwriters was "Never My Love". Recorded by dozens of notable artists in the decades since, in 1999 the music publishing rights organization #BroadcastMusicInc (BMI) announced it was the second most-played song on radio.

Terry Kirkman, who co-founded "The Association" and once played in another group with Cass Elliot & David Crosby, died at 83.
I was a minor fan of The Association in the 60's. My favorite songs of theirs were: Along Comes Mary & Cherish which were on the album pictured below that I once owned and, since I'm currently on a nostalgia kick, I may repurchase it.
Funny thing is, I originally thought they were a British group because they "came along" when so many British groups first did.
