"Never My Love" is a #pop standard written by American siblings Don and Dick Addrisi, and best known from a hit 1967 recording by #theAssociation. The #AddrisiBrothers had two #Top40 hits as recording artists, but their biggest success as #songwriters was "Never My Love". Terry Kirkman, who co-founded "The Association" and once played in another group with Cass Elliot & David Crosby, died at 83.
I was a minor fan of The Association in the 60's. My favorite songs of theirs were: Along Comes Mary & Cherish which were on the album pictured below that I once owned and, since I'm currently on a nostalgia kick, I may repurchase it.
Funny thing is, I originally thought they were a British group because they "came along" when so many British groups first did.
You ask me
if there'll come a
When I grow of you
You wonder
if this of mine
Will lose its for you
What makes you think love will end
When you know that
my whole life depends on you?
You say you fear I'll change my mind
And I won't require you
Never, My Love

@LaurieBiagini If I was to give a Ted Talk, it’d be on the direct line from #TheAssociation to #Anxious and it’d be called ‘Sunshine Pop Is Alive And Well But It’s Called Pop Punk Now.’ The playlist would include:
#The5thDimension #TheSundowners #RogerNicholls #TheFreeDesign #All #Civ #HaveHeart #SetYourGoals and end up with the aforementioned #Anxious who I think have made the pop single of this year, hands down.
