Tracing the history of the concept of the #tributary #modeofproduction. I wondered if I should be talking about it at all, because #Amin|s conceptualisation, as interesting as it is at first glance, remains a bit on the surface. It takes some historians of antiquity and of El-Andalus to really fill it. And then, I hadn’t even thought about it at first, Eric Wolf. Europe and the People without History makes really something out of it, so that a thorough Marxist theory of culture can be developed.
