Ook dit jaar is er weer een anarchistisch-jongerenweekend! Het AJW zal plaatsvinden van vrijdag 2 t/m zondag 4 mei 2025 op het Anarchistisch Kampeerterrein Appelscha! Wij zijn druk bezig met een programma en de logistiek, en houden jullie op de hoogte als er leuke updates zijn. Wat ons betreft zijn jongeren iedereen tussen en rond de 15 en 25 jaar.
Mocht je zelf een idee hebben voor het programma, of heb je iets specifieks nodig om te kunnen komen zijn wij beschikbaar via onze mail: anarchojongerenweekend@protonmail.com.

There will be another anarchist youth weekend this year! The AYW will take place from May 2nd until May 4th 2025 at the Anarchist Campsite Appelscha! We are busy with a program and logistics, and will keep you informed if there are any nice updates. As far as we are concerned, young people are anyone between and around the ages of 15 and 25.

Meta’s Facebook’s influence remains strong globally, but younger users are logging in less. Only 32% of U.S. teens use Facebook today, down from 71% in 2014, according to a 2024 Pew Research study. However, Facebook’s resale platform Marketplace is one reason young people are on the platform. “I only use Facebook for Marketplace,” said Mirka Arevalo, a student at Buffalo University. “I go in knowing what I want, not just casually browsing.”

Persistence of Vision is an film education program of the Hollywood Theatre designed for 10th, 11th and 12th grade girls of all identities including gender-nonconforming youth to explore our connection to film, both as an art form and as a means of interacting with the world. The #youth didn't deprive themselves of real connections due to #socialmedia - these connections have been *taken from them* due to precarious finances and jobs, longer working hours and clampdowns on hedonism and third spaces compared to the 90s and 00s (and by the 2000s the Internet was already a big part of many peoples lives)

Democratic California governor Gavin (secretly a fascist) #Newsom started a podcast and on his first episode platformed far-right, anti-LGBTQ+ influencer Charlie Kirk.

At one point, Newsom stated he was "completely aligned" with Kirk on #transgender participation in sports. He also appeared to express agreement with restrictions on medical care for incarcerated transgender people and limits on gender-affirming healthcare for transgender #youth.

Fuck him, and fuck any democrats who platform the alt right.
