Here we go. One character cast, 100 words.

Onee-Chan to the Rescue

“Chino-chan has the flu. What should I do?”
Cocoa stood in the cafe, deep in thought.
“I already called Takahiro-san, and he’s getting a train home and should be back tonight. He said to close the cafe, and I did. I called the girls and told them not to visit. I don’t want them to get sick.”
“There has to be more big sister can do.”
“I know. I’ll make her an enormous, fluffy bun!”
“No, her stomach is too upset.”
“Rice porridge. That’s what Mom made.”
“I wonder where the rice cooker is?”
“Found it.”
“Onee-chan to the rescue!”

Winter to Spring (冬から春へ)

“It’s spring, it’s spring!” Maya excitedly yelled.

The day was bright with only a single wispy cloud in the sky. A day off from school and armed with bentos from home, Maya and Megu headed for a nearby public garden. The trees were still bare, but early spring buds had appeared. It was a day to be savored with adventures to be had.

“No, it’s not. It’s only early March,” Megu corrected her.

“It’s warm and sunny. That means it’s spring!”

“No, it doesn’t,” Megu insisted.

Undeterred, Maya continued, “They have computers at school now, and I saw a poem about this. The English teacher made us translate it. So mean! It was hard!—Want to hear it?”

“Sure, if it will make you happy.”

          Sunny skies
          The cold yet remains.
          Rain at bay
          Rosemary first flower
          Plum and sakura yet.

“That’s in English! How am I supposed to understand that?” Megu said.

“Well, never mind,” Maya said, running down the path. “My translation was trash, so let’s forget it and climb a rosemary tree instead.”

Muffin Day (マフィンの日) #FlashFiction

Cocoa came out to the kitchen beaming. “I’ve been practicing for when I have my own coffee shop. Muffins, chocolate ones!”

She looked around. First, looking at Syaro, then Rize. “Where’s Chino? I wanted her to try them and see if we could serve them in Rabbit House.”

“She’s on a school trip,” Rize explained. “Don’t you remember her asking us to cover for her at Rabbit House?”

“Oh, that’s right,” Cocoa said.

“There are only two,” Syaro pointed out.

“Well, I want one,” Rize said.

Cocoa had visions of Rize getting his gun and stealing them at gunpoint. She then looked at Syaro and visions of the Phantom Thief Lapin swooping in to steal them. Just as she was about to dash away with the plate, Syaro spoke. “That just means we each get half, and we’ll save one for Chino.”

“We’ll save the best piece for Chino,” Cocoa announced. “A treat for getting home.”

They did that, leaving out only Chiya. When Chiya-chan found out, she puffed up her cheeks, turning red with indignation, which caused everyone to laugh.

“You’re so cute,” Cocoa said. “Tell you what, I’ll bake another batch, and you can have two!”

There were only two muffins so the girls fought over them. (Politely) It was eventually settled by everyone taking 1/2 which meant I got some too.
