In Idaho, a judge ruled that the strictest abortion ban in the country was, too strict. Abortions are now allowed not just if the pregnant person’s life is in imminent danger, but also if their life could be in danger in the future without one.

About the ruling OBGYN and plaintiff Emily Corrigan said: “Today’s ruling will help us preserve the health of some of our patients the way that we have been trained. But we will still be forced to turn people away, against our training as physicians. Abortion has long been part of the national standard of care offered to those with serious pregnancy complications, and it shouldn’t change just because of what state you are in. It is my duty to protect my patients and their health, and I will continue to advocate for all Idahoans seeking essential health care.”#freedom #abortion #AbortionIsHealthcare

West Alabama Women's Center to their patients, after a recent court order:

After three years of silence, they can "now allowed to tell patients ALL of their options for their pregnancies without fear of being prosecuted for "criminal conspiracy" by the Alabama Attorney General."

#Texas #GOP Lawmakers Propose Amending #AbortionBan Linked to Deaths & a Rise in Sepsis Cases

The bill comes after #ProPublica’s reporting on the deaths of 3 Texas women. It specifies that doctors don’t need to wait until an emergency is “imminent” to terminate pregnancies but leaves in steep penalties for those who violate the #law.

This is concerning because it reminds me of the scene from the Handmaid‘s Tale where the woman goes into labor during her baby shower and they just cut her open to take the baby out right there, then they walk away from her and let her die.

If they allow for “separation” that doesn’t sound great for the woman who they are already telling us means nothing to them.

From the link:

I predicted we’d see “even more language about ‘maternal-fetal separation’ and legislative changes framed as efforts to ‘clarify’ abortion bans.” That’s exactly what’s happening. Alongside these so-called exceptions, the amended language states that doctors can take life-saving action “separating the pregnant woman from her unborn child.”
Again, separation is not just about divorcing abortion from healthcare, but dictating what kind of procedures doctors can perform. These terms were deliberately created and embedded by anti-abortion organizations with a very specific agenda in mind.

Abortion, Every Day · Kentucky Republicans Are Making it Easier to Ban Life-Saving AbortionsBy Jessica Valenti

Don't tell me that you're "pro-life", and anti-vaccine. Don't tell me that you're "pro-life", and anti-gun legislation. Those things are mutually exclusive – you can't be both. What sense does it make to bring a child into the world, only for them to die from an easily-preventable disease, or in a hail of bullets in a place they should feel safe, their school? Why is an unborn life worth more than the life child? #prolife #guns #abortionrights #abortionIsHealthcare #gunControl

A woman in South Carolina has an ectopic pregnancy and doctors are refusing to operate because of abortion bans.

It’s not just her ovary being put at risk.

Ectopic pregnancies are life threatening and require immediate surgery.

These “forced birth” policies are anything but pro life. They’re killing people and in many cases taking away their fertility.

This is cruelty. It’s not about life. It’s not about babies. It’s about controlling women. The cruelty is the point.

Once again, if you’re using a period tracker app, stop right now. Don’t discuss your cycle, your relationship status, your desire to have kids (or not have kids) with anyone you don’t absolutely need to discuss it with.

Republicans seem determined to roll back reproductive rights and make it “your body, my choice”.

We must fight back. One of the best ways to do this is to commit to give them as little information as possible.

Missouri bill seeks to create a registry of women who are high risk for having an abortion, and may allow crisis pregnancy centres to manage said list.

Please call your local lawmakers and urge them to vote no on this dystopian bill.

Our body, our choice. Always.

Fuck Nazis. Fuck white supremacists. Fuck everyone who aids or appeases them.

Our fight is for all, and for equal rights for all, in all its intersections. Black lives, trans rights, informed enthusiastic consent, accessibility, the works.

No one is safe until all of us are safe.
