It's #FlyDay! Here's a Crane Fly (specifically Nephrotoma altissima) that I met on the sidewalk in front of my house. We had an neighbourly conversation about the weather, the local sports team, and where to find the best leaf detritus for egg laying.

From July 01 Erigeron philadelphicus is an occasional here, usually #wetland edge. Interestingly, I introduced it to a garden bed, and discovered that it doesn't need wetland or even mesic conditions-- it thrives in even rather dry parts of the rock gardens!
