"Y'know, the downside of having gone mobile [using laptops] for so many years is, I don't have one to work on!"
My response: "I mean, why would you?"

I really don't know the first thing about hardware
yet, I understand that's relevant to user freedom as much (if not more than) as software
I don't understand why it's so hard to produce a open hardware mobile phone
I don't understand why doesn't RISC V take off immediately
Shouldn't we already have RISC V based PCs and SOCs ?
