Ready to Strike

The dogs took me for a walk this morning. I started to take my camera, but I didn't. It turns out that I needed it and didn't have it. There were lots of little birds about. If I'd had my camera, I might have captured an image of a species that I haven't photographed before. Oh well, here is a nice image of a snowy egret (Egretta thula) hunting in a tidal pool at Gulfport, Mississippi.

Spent a day at Oceanside Harbor to distract me from the sorrow over the loss of a beloved pet. It helped a little. There's a lot of wildlife that hangs around there, from sea birds to sea lions. Graceful Reflection

I thought this was a photo of an immature little blue heron, which was what I was searching for through my photo library. But it is a snowy egret (Egretta thula) moving slowly through a tidal pool searching for food. I just posted a photo of one of these egrets a day or so ago. I hope that you're not disappointed.

Golden Hour Egret

This snowy egret (Egretta thula) was on the beach and Gulfport, Mississippi hunting in the tide pools.

I've had several inquiries about how to get a print of some my photographs. This is a hobby for me, so I haven't been equipped to handle those requests. But I enjoy what I'm doing and want to share my photographs.

Tidal Pool Hunters

These two similar looking birds are two different species. The bird in the foreground is a snowy egret (Egretta thula), while the larger bird farther back is an immature little blue heron (Egretta caerulea).

Morning Reflection

Here is another early bird that was on the beach at Gulfport, Mississippi. This is a snowy egret (Egretta thula) stealthily moving through a tidal mirror like pool on the beach.
