#Tuvix is "alive" only because 2 other crewmen are trapped within him. He's basically a seamless collective, except the two people that make him are so seamlessly integrated they don't know to ask to be freed, and speak as one.

Imagine if the computer in #TheThaw, rather than torture its sleepers, had used their brains to form a new entity, to the point that the sleepers could no longer think.

Of course they should be freed!

#TheThaw is my favorite episode of Voyager. It's the perfect combination of TOS-era Zaniness and TNG-era Seriousness. I wish more Voyager episodes used this format. I also have a thing for Renaissance Faires, Circuses, Clowns, and the surreal which contributes to my overall enjoyment of the episode. Plus McKean's interactions with Picardo are just hilarious and the finale between McKean and Mulgrew is one of my favorite endings of a Star Trek episode.

I'm wracking my brain to remember another episode where a Star Fleet captain looks another being dead in the eyes and basically says, "You're dying, I'm going to let you, and you deserve it." No remorse, no comfort.

That's way more of a cold-blooded #Garak move that would show up on #StarTrekDS9 than the behavior I'd expect from #StarFleet (even a hologram), well with the exception of Lon Suder I guess.
