The first #script for the 1982 #film ‘#MakingLove’ was much #edgier than the #script that ended up being shot and that’s what I liked about it. They kind of #whitewashed it a little bit along the way thinking that the #edginess of it would turn the #audience off.

I remember me & others #FOBS - Fresh off the boat refugees, were treated with disdain by #Asian folks born here & it confused me a lot, as a little kid. I didn't understand why people who looked like me & my family, seemed to hate & not want to be anywhere around us refugee kids. It took me years to learn that they were so #whitewashed #indoctrinated, they became just as cruel to us as the white racist kids were. I felt sorry for them. I thought - how awful their lives must be, hating their own cultures & ethnicness. I got angry at their actions. I always felt more sorry for those #POC #brainwashed kids, than anger.

I seriously think she should be visiting #FirstNations communities across #Canada instead of using our #TaxDollars to fly across the world to talk to other #Indigenous ppl! We have tons of wisdoms available from #Native elders, matriarchs, youths & activists - right here, in Canada. If she can't help domestic #FirstPeoples - zero faith she'll do much to help any others globally either.
