Not sure why these turkey vultures were circling above the local playground.. it was a bit unnerving watching these above us as tiny man went down the slides. I kept wondering if there was something deceased nearby that I didn't notice and we disturbed their breakfast. It was beautiful and pretty cool to see such a big committee flying around though.

For my wife's recent birthday, we had the property certified as a NWF habitat and got her the cool metal sign to display. You have to certify that you have native vegetation for food and cover, sources of water (we have a small pond and a fountain) and places for animals to raise their young. We only mow about a third of our property and leave the rest as natural as possible to allow the local wildlife some refuge. We also do our best to landscape with native plants. This is something she has wanted to do for a couple of years now.

Mama dove was out of the nest grabbing a snack and a drink.. so I took the opportunity to snap a couple pics of the babies. In just a couple weeks, they have grown so much. I saw one standing up and flapping it's wings, so it won't be too long until they are flying and starting their own lives.

A dove decided to make a nest in one of our hanging plants. We have been using the back door now, so as not to disturb her as this hanging basket is on the front deck about 4 feet from the front door. Tiny man keeps running over to the window and going 'Awwww.. she's so cute'. lol
Pretty sure we saw a few eggs in there when she got off the next for a minute to enjoy the food / water my wife put out for her.

This amazing creature (nurse shark) spent about 30 minutes swimming in and around our group of divers.
