Did anybody see the movie Chevalier, about Chevalier de Saint-Georges? It came out earlier this year and I didn't see it in the theaters locally, and at this point it seems to only be available via streaming.

Finished watching #Chevalier and definitely recommend it. Very sad, at times, but powerful.

Always important to remember and celebrate those who have actively been erased by bigotry in power.

While I'm sure some elements were romanticised (Marie Antoinette going out in the street, barely protected against rowdy revolutionaries didn't scan for me) it's still undoubtedly more accurate than what we learnt in schools.

I rented #Chevalier yesterday and quite liked it. If you like lush production, the lead-up to the French Revolution, classical music, swords, forbidden romance, social activism and a breathtakingly handsome man in breeches, this movie may be for you!
