Consumer Labs found that some oats on the market contained a disturbing amount of gluten.

I would share the article but I think you have to log onto to read it.

Rolled Quaker Oats 100% Whole Grain Oats Old Fashioned has 672.3 ppm gluten in it. It goes off the chart below there is so much gluten in them.

The 365 brand oats from Whole Foods was at the top of their approved list. I don’t like to praise any Bezos business but at least those oats are gluten free for real.

What Consumer Labs found: Gluten - A Disturbing Finding As shown in the graph below and in the 2nd column of the Results table, a surprisingly high level of gluten (672.3 ppm) was found in Quaker Oats 100% Whole Grain Oats Old Fashioned. A second container with the same lot number showed a similar result (737.6 ppm). This means that a person who is trying to avoid gluten should avoid this product. (Quaker Oats Old Fashioned Oats was also discovered, in 2022, to contain the highest amount of the chemical chlormequat in a sample of oat-based products - although the amount found was well below the EPA limit. This chart shows yeast and mold found per grams in oats every brand listed had less than 10 CFU/g except Bob’s Red Mill Organic Steel Cut Oats has 20 CFU/g and One Degree Organic Foods Sprouted Steel Cut Oats has 55 CFU/g yeast and mold per sample.
The chart for Lead, Arsenic and Cadmium is overwhelming to type out. They all look bad. Bob’s red Mill organic old-fashioned rolled whole grain oats contains non-detectable amounts of arsenic, but they have the second largest amount of lead for example. Bob’s red mill organic steel cut oats has a small amount of lead no detectable amounts of cadmium, but the most amount of arsenic in this chart. Mensen kunnen via allerlei bronnen in aanraking komen met chemische stoffen, zoals cadmium en lood. Bij het binnenkrijgen van te veel cadmium en lood kunnen op de langere termijn de nieren minder goed gaan werken, vooral bij oudere mensen.

We onderzochten bloed en urine van 50-plussers op cadmium en lood. Daaruit blijkt dat zij opgeteld te veel van deze stoffen binnenkrijgen.

SHIPROCK, #NavajoNation -- "In his book published shortly before his passing, Klee Benally writes of going to the #NorthernNavajoFair and the #UraniumDump in #Shiprock that no one talks about. It is along the San Juan River, the same river that flooded this week, now eight months after Klee's passing.

"'The Northern Navajo Fair at Tsé Bit A'í (#ShiprockNewMexico) has been held for more than one hundred years,' Klee writes in 'No Spiritual Surrender: Indigenous Anarchy in Defense of the Sacred.'

"Klee describes how the fair each fall marks the changing of the seasons and the #harvest. He describes the neon glow of the carnival in the cold, dusty nights, and the #uniper fires that burn.

"All of this revelry is held right on #UraniumBoulevard just a couple miles from a massive 105-acre #Radioactive dump containing 2.5 million tons of #RadioactiveWaste on a site that was a former #UraniumMill (which is just 600 feet from the San Juan River.)'

"The Shiprock Uranium Disposal Cell studies showed that more than 1.8 million liters of #groundwater were contaminated with uranium, #selenium, #radium, #cadmium, #sulfate, and #nitrate.

"Now the #NavajoNation again is targeted by the #Nuclear Industry and #DebHaaland's radioactive agenda is being ignored.

"Speaking in Farmington, Interior Sec. Haaland said the transition to green energy in the #FourCorners region will be led by the #AtomicBomb industry, #LosAlamos National Laboratory, which has already poisoned #Pueblo lands in northern #NewMexico.

"There is no mention of the fact that there is no safe way to store #NuclearWaste.
Now, adding to the layers of deception, the U.S. #EPA is deceiving the public. The EPA doesn't actually clean up the uranium dumps and strewn #RadioactiveTailings from #ColdWar #UraniumMining on the Navajo Nation -- it only announces plans and promises to do it.

"#EricJantz, legal director of the New Mexico Environmental Law Center, told the Inter-American Commission on #HumanRights in March that the #EPA has not completed any of the cleanups.

"There are 524 uranium mine sites waiting to be cleaned up on the Navajo Nation. Zero -- none of these -- have been fully cleaned up, Jantz told the international commission.
The truth is people seldom talk about the uranium dump at Shiprock because there is so much strewn radioactive waste, and so many unreclaimed uranium mines, with radioactive waste strewn from Cameron to #MonumentValley, and across the Four Corners region.

"During the 1990s, on assignment for USA Today, I talked with #Dine' in #RedValley and Cove, south of Shiprock, down the mountain from where I lived. In every family, there was cancer. In every family, someone was dying of #cancer, or had already died, from cancer because of the uranium mining.

"One Dine' grandmother in her 80s was living in a stone home built of radioactive rock. We had a Geiger counter with us."

Bassin de Decazeville : Un désastre industriel sans fin

Dans le territoire le plus sinistré de l’Aveyron, l’incendie d’un entrepôt à Viviez a réduit en fumée 1200 tonnes de batteries au lithium et 13 tonnes de cadmium. La préfecture a affirmé que cela était sans danger sous prétexte de ne pas stresser la population alors qu’une méga-décharge est en projet à proximité.

Le soir de l’incendie, la presse locale, omettant de préciser à son lectorat que la SNAM faisait fi des normes de sécurité depuis des années, cite le communiqué « rassurant » de la préfecture de l’Aveyron affirmant que le site qui vient de brûler n’est pas le site Seveso de la SNAM. En effet c’est son annexe située à 500 mètres, la SOPAVE, qui est partie en fumée (...).

Pourtant dès le lendemain, Le Monde parle d’une « installation classée pour la protection de l’environnement, catégorisée SEVESO seuil haut. » Ces contradictions viennent pointer du doigt les dysfonctionnements de la SNAM qui joue avec les limites des réglementations environnementales quand elle ne s’en affranchit pas complètement (...).

Cet incendie s’ajoute à la longue liste des catastrophes industrielles dans cette vallée. En 2008, un rapport de l’Institut national de veille sanitaire concluait à « une surimprégnation marquée au cadmium de la population des adultes de Viviez comparativement à une population adulte non-exposée ou à la population générale française (...) le cadmium étant un toxique cumulatif, la poursuite de l’exposition environnementale telle qu’elle existe aujourd’hui à Viviez est susceptible (…) d’entraîner de nouvelles surimprégnations dans la population conduisant à une augmentation du risque de développer une pathologie en lien avec ce polluant ».
