#DnD argument about "alignments" I used to have Lawful is NOT about the laws of the land you're in. It's about you having a strict moral code you adhere to without wavering. If the law of the land happens to disagree with your code, you are obligated to your code.
Chaotic does what feels like the thing to do at the time.

#Dexter is "Lawful Evil" because he has a strict code. He doesn't randomly do things. That code does not align with the law of the land. For him, it supersedes it.

Went into 'Dexter: Original Sin' with no expectations and...it's actually solid. Admittedly, it's not really a show that needed to exist, or that it had much more to add to the character that we didn't know. The first episode explores the Nurse Mary story that the original show also covered in Ep3 of S1. It's a bit different, but it's done well. I think that recreating the old intro bit-by-bit was the best choice, because it's such a signature part of the series nothing else could compare.

That said, it's undeniable that they've managed to perfectly capture that characteristic Dexter vibe from the first seasons. Michael C. Hall narrating Dexter's inner voice does a lot of heavy lifting in that regard, but the actors also do an overall great job as their respective characters. Molly Brown in particular has nailed Deb's tone and mannerisms, and Christian Slater proved to be a good choice for Harry Morgan. It's not quite the same, but it really feels like early Dexter. I'm cautiously optimistic and curious to see where the rest of the season goes.

Just watched the season premiere of Dexter: Original Sin. Totally fucking nailed it, as Debs would say.
It has the feel of the original that New Blood didn't (but told them that we wanted more)
From the opening credits, there are nods to the OS, Debs being foul mouthed, and a pitch perfect actor playing the lead. And of course it wouldn't be the same without Michael C Hall as the narrator.
5 fucking stars.
