A big chunk of Russian immigrants voted for AfD because of their anti-immigration position.
You don't see the irony here, do you, Tatyana?

Hate to break it to you, Tatyana, but the people who receive help from the government are here LEGALLY. They are registered, the government acknowledges them and gives them help.
They are just as legal as you are.

Thoughts on #germanelection2025
AfD did worse than they hoped. They're performing well among disaffected people. But Die Linke did unexpectedly well, especially among female voters. CDU performed as expected, but no better.

SPD did much worse than they hoped, possibly because of close relations with centre-right CDU.

Greens have been in coalition gov for a while, which meant they had to compromise. IMO this put many of their core voters off voting for them.

** Germans have two votes: one for a directly elected candidate for their area, and then a second vote, for a party. The % of vote share matters – they must reach 5% to get a seat in parliament, then after that, the number of politicians will be shared according to vote share. So every vote past 5% counts. What this means is that BSW (formed last year by one particular vocal politician breaking away from Die Linke and forming her own party), the disruptive business-friendly (ie, consumer unfriendly) FDP and others don't get a say. I voted Green/Die Linke and so am happy with the result. It could have been a great deal worse.
