I’d never seen a pied-billed grebe looking this fierce before.

Saw some Western Grebe feeding/parenting behavior today at the Bill Williams NWR near Parker, Arizona. The adult caught a fish, then delivered it to a very excited juvenile that was able to choke it down.

I sneaked a little time in the park at the river's mouth (as a treat, after having had to run an early morning meeting).

While there, I saw two #grebes doing a mating display (mirrored dancing), so I thought I'd try to catch some on video. Of course, they stopped dancing the moment I started filming, but they did lead me to this.
